Looney Tunes and Mutant Hamsters

Lately I have been crammed with work since we have our animations due on Thursday so I havent had time to draw for myself. But then when I finally found time I ended up staring in dread at the endless realm of blank space that exists on a white page and became frustrated by the realization that I have not yet found a style. However, this week in class Michel showed a film on Chuck Jones and his cartoons and now a sleeping beast-like love for Looney Tunes was re-awakened and I have been on Looney Tunes crack all week (aka buying WB character design manual, wearing my Wile E Coyote Jeans, downloading 10 gigs of WB cartoons). I spent a while the other night reading over the newly bought design manual and found a quote that helped put things in perspective really well.
A painter who has found his technique is of no interest to me. He gets up in the morning without passion, and he quietly and peacefully continues with the work he started the day before. I suspect he feels much the same kind of boredom as that experience by a conscientious worker who goes about his duties without any unexpected moment of happiness to light his day. He does ot suffer the sacred torment that rises from the subconcious and the unknown; he expects nothing of that which is to come. I love what never was.
Odilon Redon, 1840-1916
I know... its pretty deep. Very wise words. Anyhow here is my new WB style character I came up with possibly for character design class.
Thats all Folks!
